The Jupiter Lighthouse is located in Jupiter Florida and was first lit on
July 10, 1860. George Gordon Meade designed the Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse,
which is 108 ft tall and sits atop of 48 ft mound, for a total height of 156 ft
with 105 steps to the top. The lighthouse is made of red brick and is
built upon a foundation of oyster shells.
The original keeper's dwelling burned down in 1927 and the current dwelling
dates from 1959.
